Ear Infections

I've just recovered from my second ear infection since December - and I'm officially lodging a complaint about that. However, what I've learned with these two bouts of bacteria in my ear is:

1 - I'm likely allergic to Georgia
2 - we underestimate the strength of babies and children who battle repeated ear infections
3 - those who deal with this repeated pain are, by definition, true badasses

In all seriousness, I have  new level of respect for my children - both of whom had so many ear infections that they both had tubes put into their ear drums before they were 2 years old. I was praying for a miniscule tunnel of magic to relieve the pressure and swelling that indwelled my right ear on both occasions. It's a strange sensation, once the pain abates, to have what feels like a massive balloon blown up inside your ear. I have new respect for people who cope with hearing loss. My family got tired of my asking them to repeat themselves and I got tired of asking! All this to say - protect your ears, people. They're not fun to live without. As for me - caring for my ears looks like finding a good allergist to help keep my head a bit clearer so my ears may continue to do their work of hearing.
